The Perfect Light "Wrap" Sweater

Over the last few years, I've tried on dozens upon dozens of wrap tops and sweaters. I love the ease of the look and admire this style on models and bloggers. Yet, I've had trouble finding one that I've been satisfied with. Some require tying inside the wrap and then again outside which is additional bulk in odd places. Other tops don't hang awkwardly and are not flattering,

THE DETAILS

This wrap sweater has a deep neckline that makes it a nice layering top. You can wear it with a lace camisole underneath or with a cute bralette for a night out. The plunging neckline can be very low and flaps open if you lean over (it doesn't have any ties). I personally like the look when the folds of the drape are held together to form a low v-neck. Most wrap sweaters have a higher v-neck but this one allows for some customization. After deciding on the depth of the dip, I pinned the folds together (no Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunctions here!).

MATERIAL & FIT

The acrylic fabric is lightweight and breathable. When I first touched the fabric, I had concerns about the material being scratchy but I did not have any issues. It has a loose fit around the body but is fitted in the arms. The fabric is slightly sheer. Overall, this top runs true to size. I usually wear a size 2-4 and purchased a size S which fits perfectly. If you prefer a slouchy fit, order a size up. It is a good choice for transitional weather, warmth without being hot. This wrap sweater only comes in a heather gray color - I'll gladly buy more if Lulu's decides to make others.

I'm wearing my absolute favorite ponte pants from Brass. They're actually leggings (SHHHHH) but the flattering fit and back pockets make it wearable for any situations. THESE ARE SO COMFORTABLE! These pants have a wide elastic waist that really sucks in your tummy area and are seriously a god-send. It's like spanx but built into your pants. If you don't have an hourglass shape, these pants will help you look like you do. Tuck in all of your tops to get that shape. Just note that it will take a wash or two for the elastic waist to relax.

I wore this outfit for drinks with girl friends. I tossed my hair into a messy, carefree pony tail. Strappy peep-toe booties completes this look.
