Am I alone when I say that I like to dress up for work?

During my professional career, I've either worked in corporate settings or remotely. The offices that I’ve worked in had business casual dress policies. Associates who were client-facing were the exception and dressed more formally. I did not work in a client-facing capacity but often still enjoyed putting on  the "dressier" side of my closet. The reason that I like to do this is that it gets me in the mindset to take myself seriously and accomplish my goals for the day. It's odd but I find that I sit up straighter ,less likely to slouch, and generally more alert.

The outfit that I'm sharing today is focused on this black and white crochet top from Chicwish. I love this top because it is so different, has a variety of patterns, and is super feminine. There is a lot to look at with this top: floral patterns, horizontal lines, circular cut outs, bell sleeves, and velvet stripes on the arms. The classic colors in this top keep it from being completely overwhelming. This top comes with a little white tank top to wear underneath. But I found the accompanying tank top to be awkwardly sized and decided to use another white tank top to wear underneath.

The rest of the outfit is kept simple. I paired the crochet top with a faux leather pencil skirt and black patent leather pumps.  I love pencil skirts because they instantly make any outfit look chic and put together.
